Anastasia Chalkidou is the Associate Director of the Medical Technologies Evaluation Programme and the Interventional Procedures Programme at NICE. Before her tenure at NICE, she was the Associate Director for the King’s Technology Evaluation Centre (KiTEC) and was a Senior Research Fellow in Health Technology Assessment at King’s College London, with a focus on complex interventions, medical devices, and digital health technologies. She has led a wide range of health technology assessment (HTA) projects, both national and hospital-based, and has provided consultancy to MedTech companies on developing evidence generation strategies and value propositions from inception to market. She has led the independent evaluation of two national commissioning through evaluation schemes for NHS England.

Anastasia’s career began in Clinical Oncology, following her medical degree completion in 2004. She further pursued an MSc in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, a PhD focused on the validation of positron emission tomography (PET) biomarkers in oncology, and a MA in Higher Education Practice. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK and serves as the co-Chair of the HTAi Medical Devices Interest Group.
